ERIE COUNTY, NY — Erie County Legislator Lindsay Lorigo toured FeedMore WNY’s commissary and warehouse for a behind-the-scenes look at the great work they do in the community. FeedMore is the result of a merger with the Food Bank of WNY and Meals on Wheels. The organization supports families, seniors and children facing food insecurity. They have a backpack program that ensures kids have meals over the weekend, while their farm market brings fresh, local produce at affordable prices throughout the community.
In addition, their RISE program offers job training and readiness, while their community education initiatives help build long-term food security. More than four-thousand volunteers work to ensure they carry out their mission of serving those in need in Western New York.
“FeedMore does great work every day taking care of the vulnerable in our community. They are wonderful partners of Erie County and I am grateful for the good work they do. The new warehouse being constructed in Hamburg will ensure the organization can continue serving this region for decades to come,” said Legislator Lorigo.
