LEGISLATOR GREENE APPROVES AGREEMENT TO ADDRESS ISSUES ALONG ELLICOTT CREEK

The Erie County Legislature approved an agreement at its final session of 2024 that focuses on the streambank of Ellicott Creek.  The measure authorizes an agreement with the design firm Greenman-Pederson, Inc. for slope stabilization of North Forest Road along the streambank of Ellicott Creek.  That streambank has been steadily eroding for a number of years.

“This is a safety issue.  If this particular section along North Forest Road were to be closed, it would ultimately have a significant impact on the Getzville Fire Company.  If it were necessary to close that section of road, it would cut off the fire company from points west, including Beechwood, which likely accounts for a significant number of the calls they receive.  Additionally, it would force a detour for residents west of Stahl needing to go to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital,” said Legislator Chris Greene.

The contract is with the design firm Greenman-Pederson, Inc.
