The Village of Alden is located on the eastern border of Erie County approximately 20 miles east of Buffalo. Incorporated in 1869, the Village of Alden is a rural/residential community with a population of 2604 -Census 2020.

Did you know the Alden Hook and Ladder Fire Company sells reflective address markers? Only $20 for the marker, installation and post are included for free. Order yours today, it may help save your life, or someone you love. If the fire company cannot find you, they can’t help you. Pick up your order forms at the Village Hall, 13336 Broadway.

Village Crosswalks

There are three designated village crosswalk that intersect Broadway at Westcott, Emerson and Church St. State law requires drivers must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, particularly if a pedestrian is in a crosswalk. This law is in effect all year long, even when the signs are not in the roadway. Thank you.

Solicitor's Permits

No person shall engage in the occupation of peddling and hawking within the Village of Alden, without first obtaining a permit from the Village Clerk’s Office. If you are approached by a salesperson, please ask to see their permit. If they do not have one, they can be reported to the Erie County Sheriff’s non emergency number 858-2903 or the Village Clerk’s Office 937-9216 ext. 110. Thank you.
