LORIGO DELIVERS VALENTINES MADE BY AREA STUDENTS TO SENIORS IN 10TH DISTRICT

BUFFALO, NY — Erie County Legislator Lindsay Lorigo delivered Valentine’s Day cards to local seniors through her annual Valentine’s for Seniors program.  The initiative connects elementary and middle school students with seniors by sharing handmade Valentine’s cards with senior centers, assisted living facilities, and adult day programs through the 10th Legislative District.

“Giving back to others by spreading kindness and warmth is something we truly value in our school.  Over 200 West Seneca East Middle School students were thrilled to be part of such a worthwhile and heartfelt cause.  The Valentine’s Day cards turned out beautifully and we are so proud of all that our students do for the community,” said Principal Jason Marchioli.

“Our seniors are thrilled to receive the handmade Valentine’s cards from Legislator Lorigo.  Legislator Lorigo spends time while handing them out to listen to our members’ concerns,” added Donna Bodekor, Director of the Aurora Senior Center.

The participating schools include:

  • Winchester-Potters Elementary
  • West Seneca West & East Middle
  • Northwood Elementary
  • Queen of Heaven School
  • Allendale Elementary
  • East Aurora Montessori School
  • Holland Middle
  • Harold O. Brumsted Elementary
  • Elma Primary
  • Iroquois Intermediate
  • Wales Primary
  • Parkdale Elementary
  • Aurora Waldorf School
  • West Seneca West Elementary
  • Colden Elementary

“I am truly grateful for the efforts of the students, teachers, and school staff who participated in the program this year.  Receiving these Valentine’s Day cards is a highlight for so many of our community’s senior citizens, and I am honored to facilitate this connection between generations,” said Legislator Lindsay Lorigo.
