LORIGO SECURES FUNDING FOR WEST SENECA POLICE DEPARTMENT E-BIKES

ERIE COUNTY, NY — Erie County Legislator Lindsay Lorigo announced that the West Seneca Police Department has purchased two electric bicycles thanks to funding she secured in the 2025 Erie County Budget. The new e‑bikes will enhance patrol capabilities, improve mobility in high-traffic areas, and strengthen community policing efforts.

“Our police department works hard to keep our community safe, and these new e‑bikes give them a tool to be even more effective,” said Legislator Lindsay Lorigo, who represents the Town of West Seneca. “Whether patrolling during large events or navigating areas where vehicles can’t easily go, these e‑bikes will help officers respond quickly and interact more closely with residents.”

West Seneca Police Chief Brian Cosgrove welcomed the addition: “The e‑bikes have already proven to be an asset at community events and in park patrols. They allow our officers to be more visible, approachable, and responsive in places traditional patrol cars can’t reach.”

The e‑bikes have already been used at community events and will continue to be deployed for park patrols, large gatherings, and other situations where quick mobility is essential.
