The Erie County DA's Office only maintains official accounts on Facebook and X. Any posts authored by members of the public do not represent the views of the District Attorney or the District Attorney’s Office, nor do these comments constitute any form of endorsement by this office.
While we value and respect the First Amendment rights of all individuals who engage with the office on social media, the Erie County District Attorney's Office reserves the right to remove any post by another social media user for reasons including, but not limited to:

Potential to compromise an investigation or pending criminal case

Potential to compromise the safety of the public

Identify victim or witness and/or includes other personal identifying information

Threats or harassment

Offensive, obscene, vulgar, profane, defamatory language or images

Hate speech or personal attacks

Off-topic or irrelevant comments

Advertisements for a business, commercial interest, political party or candidate

False or misleading information

Include spam or repeated copies of the same comment or post

Links to third-party websites and videos

Copyright or trademark infringement

Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Any violation of these terms may result in the removal of the post and/or the user being blocked from social media pages used by the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. While the District Attorney's Office is responsible for the review and moderation of posts by the public, an inappropriate post may not be addressed immediately.
