INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office is now accepting applications for the Summer 2025 Intern Program. Applications will be accepted through February 1, 2025. Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to DAInterns@erie.gov.

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office Summer 2025  Intern Program runs from May 19,  2025 to August 8, 2025. The Program is open to 1st and 2nd year law students. Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 days per week plus Wednesday mornings. Interns will assist with discovery, conduct research and writing, observe trials and hearings, and help Assistant District Attorneys with all aspects of case management and trial preparation. Interns will be assigned to Buffalo City Court, Justice Court, or a Felony Trial Bureau. All internships are unpaid.

On Wednesday mornings, Interns will go on tours of various criminal justice-related facilities, hear from speakers within the DA’s Office, and participate in a speaker series with the US Attorney’s Office. 

 

ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEYS

There are currently openings  for full-time Assistant District Attorneys in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. As of January 1, 2024, the starting salary for newly-hired ADAs is $79,140. The Erie County District Attorney's Office employs a number of staff that supports the operation and mission of the office. Positions include but are not limited to: Paralegal, Legal Secretary, Data Entry Operator, Social Workers and Victim Advocate.
