Woman Arraigned for Stabbing Victim at Hotel in Amherst

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Anghely Llamozas-Perez, 23, of Amherst was arraigned this morning before Amherst Town Judge Kara Buscaglia on one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class ā€œDā€ felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (Class ā€œAā€ misdemeanor).

It is alleged that on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the defendant did intentionally stab the victim using a kitchen knife at a hotel on Flint Road in the Town of Amherst.  

Llamozas-Perez is scheduled to return on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. She was held without bail. 

If convicted of the highest charge, Llamozas-Perez faces a maximum sentence of up to 7 years in prison. 

Acting DA Keane commends the Town of Amherst Police Department for their work on this case. 

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kevin L. Southern of the Felony Trials Bureau. 

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
