Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Wyatt Losi, 18, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty this morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Tiffany R. Perry to one count of Making a Threat of Mass Harm (Class “B” misdemeanor). The defendant was offered a plea to the reduced charge with the consent of the victim.
On Thursday, August 22, 2024, at approximately 11:37 a.m., the defendant posted a threat directed toward Canisius University on a social media platform. The defendant, who was a student at the college at the time of the incident, was quickly identified as the suspect and placed under arrest.
Losi faces a maximum of 90 days in jail when he is sentenced on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. He remains released on his own recognizance as the charge is a non-qualifying offense for bail. A temporary stay away order of protection remains in effect, which prohibits the defendant from being near the university.
DA Keane commends Detective Nicole Wrazen and members of the Buffalo Police Department Threat Management Unit for their work in this investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kevin L. Southern of the Felony Trials Bureau.
