Teen Arraigned on Attempted Murder Charge for Stabbing Victim in South Buffalo

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that a 17-year-old male from Buffalo was arraigned this morning before Youth Part Judge Shannon Filbert on one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Assault in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felonies). 

It is alleged that on Friday, November 1, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Buffalo Police responded to a reported stabbing on the 1900 block of Seneca Street. The victim, a 43-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to ECMC to be treated for stab wound to his chest and abdomen. 

The adolescent offender is scheduled to return on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. for a felony hearing before Youth Part Judge Brenda M. Freedman. He was remanded to the custody of the Erie County Youth Services Center.  

Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation.  

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney James L. Harrington of the Raise the Age/Motor Vehicle Theft Insurance Fraud Unit. 

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
