Pennsylvania Man to Serve State Prison Sentence for Raping Child in the Town of Evans

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 39-year-old Jacob Pearson of Wilcox, Pennsylvania was sentenced this morning before Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to 14 years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. Pearson will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.    

On or about July 5, 2022, the defendant engaged in sexual intercourse with a child who was less than 13-years-old. The crime occurred at a location in the Town of Evans. The defendant was known to the victim. 

Pearson pleaded guilty to one count of Rape in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony) on December 14, 2023. Today, a final order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, which remains in effect until January 2055.

DA Flynn commends Detective Ken Kloss of the Evans Police Department for his work in this investigation. 

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Meredith M. Mohun of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
