Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that a jury found Nayo M. Reboucas, also known as “Santos,” 24, of Lynbrook, New York, guilty of two counts of Rape in the First Degree (Class B violent felonies), one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (Class D felony), one count of Stalking in the Third Degree (Class A misdemeanor), one count of Assault in the Third Degree (Class A misdemeanor). Jurors rendered their decision yesterday afternoon after approximately nine hours of deliberation following a seven-day trial, convicting the defendant of the highest counts in the indictment.
The defendant and the victim were in an intimate partner relationship. On or about August 23, 2022, the defendant kicked and bit the victim with the intent to cause physical injury. Between on or about February 14, 2023, through on or about May 19, 2023, the defendant intentionally engaged in a course of conduct directed at the victim, which was likely to cause the victim to reasonably fear physical injury. On or about April 18, 2023, the defendant forcibly engaged in sexual contact and sexual intercourse with the victim. On or about May 12, 2023, the defendant forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim. The crimes occurred at locations in the City of Buffalo and the Town of Amherst.
Reboucas faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. He was remanded while pending sentence.
