Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that West Seneca Town Court Justice Jon F. Minear found Sean M. Croft, 51, of Cheektowaga, guilty of one count of Driving While Ability Impaired and one count of Unsafely Moving from a Lane (violations under New York State Vehicle & Traffic Law). Justice Minear rendered his decision last night following an approximately one-hour, non-jury trial.
On Saturday, August 31, 2024, at approximately 3:37 p.m., West Seneca Police responded to Nina Terrace near East and West Road for a single-vehicle crash. The defendant was operating a vehicle while impaired when he unsafely moved from the lane, drove off of the roadway and hit a tree. The defendant was issued an appearance ticket to be arraigned on a later date.
Croft was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge plus fines and surcharges. His New York State driver’s license was revoked for 90 days. In addition to leading a law-abiding life, the defendant was ordered to attend a victim impact panel.
DA Keane commends Officer Christofer Alberti and Lieutenant James Gehen of the West Seneca Police Department for their work in this investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jamie E. Englerth of the Justice Courts Bureau.
