Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Tyler Wilkinson, 28, of Hamburg, was sentenced before State Supreme Court Justice Sheila A. DiTullio to 5 years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. He will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release. He was sentenced on Monday, March 17, 2025.
On multiple occasions between on or about June 1, 2017, and on or about April 30, 2022, the defendant engaged in inappropriate conduct with a child who was less than 17-years-old, and such conduct was likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, and moral welfare of the child. The crimes occurred at locations in the Town of Hamburg. The defendant was known to the child victim.
Between on or about June 1, 2021, and July 31, 2021, at a location in the Town of Hamburg, the defendant subjected another child, who was less than 13-years-old, to sexual contact. The defendant was also known to the second child victim.
On January 15, 2025, a jury found guilty of one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (Class āDā violent felony) and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class āAā misdemeanors). Jurors rendered their decision after more than nine hours of deliberation following a five-day trial.
As part of the sentencing proceeding, final orders of protection were issued on behalf of the victims, which remain in effect until March 2048.
