Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that James P. Jenney, also known as James Jenney-McCullough, 33, of Hamburg, was arraigned yesterday morning before Hamburg Town Court Judge Carl Morgan on one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class A-I felony).
It is alleged that on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., members of the Town of Hamburg Police Department conducted a welfare check at a residence on the 5000 block of McKinley Parkway. During the investigation, a 71-year-old female was found deceased inside the home. The defendant is accused of intentionally causing the death of his mother inside of their shared residence.
Jenney is scheduled to return on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. for a felony hearing. He was held without bail.
If convicted of the charge, Jenney faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
DA Keane commends the Town of Hamburg Police Department for their work in this ongoing investigation.
The case is being prosecuted by Chief Eugene T. Partridge, III, of the Homicide Bureau.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
