Defendant Pleads Guilty for Shooting Woman on Buffalo's East Side

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Quameir K. King, 24, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty this morning before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case to one count of Assault in the First Degree (Class B violent felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C violent felony). King pleaded guilty to the charges in full satisfaction of the indictment. 

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, at approximately 9:55 a.m., the defendant intentionally shot the victim with an illegal handgun on the 200 block of Woltz Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The crime occurred during a dispute between the defendant, the victim and a witness. The victim, a 28-year-old female, was taken by ambulance to ECMC where she underwent multiple surgeries for a gunshot wound to her lower abdomen. The victim continues to recover from serious physical injuries.

King faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced as a second felony offender on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 2:00. He remains held without bail. Temporary orders of protection, issued on behalf of the victim and a witness, remain in effect. 

DA Keane commends Detective Richard Cruz, Detective William Rezabekand Officers Jordan Greene, Michael McLeod, Romair Parrett, and Paule Locke of the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation. 

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ryan M. Flaherty of the Major Crimes Bureau.
