Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Henry L. Jurek, III, 47, of Clarence, was sentenced yesterday morning before State Supreme Court Justice Amy C. Martoche to 1 ½ to 3 years of incarceration. He was sentenced as a second felony offender.
On Thursday, July 13, 2023, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the defendant attempted to cause physical injuries to the victim by slamming the victim’s head to the concrete ground. The crime occurred during an argument at a home on Silver Birch Court in the Town of Clarence. The victim was taken by ambulance to receive treatment for injuries at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.
Jurek pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree (Class “E” felony) on May 29, 2024. He pleaded guilty to the charge in full satisfaction of the indictment against him.
A final order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, which remains in effect until February 2035.
