Buffalo Woman Sentenced for Fatally Shooting Another Woman in City's LaSalle Neighborhood

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that 31-year-old Jasmine M. Craig of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to 20 years to life in prison.

On Monday, August 22, 2022, at approximately 12:35 a.m., the defendant intentionally shot the victim in the head. The victim was found lying in the street outside of her residence on Berkshire Avenue near Parkridge Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The victim, 30-year-old Lameshea Sanders, died at the scene.

In January 2024, Judge Case found the defendant guilty of one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felony) after a four-day, non-jury trial, convicting the defendant of the only count in the indictment against her.

Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Patrick B. Shanahan of the Felony Trials Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Abbi L Fuhrken of the Justice Courts Bureau.
