Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Latrice T. Purdie, 29, of Buffalo was arraigned this morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Peter J. Savage, III on one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felony).
It is alleged that on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Buffalo Police officers responded to Wade Avenue near Holden Street for a reported shooting. The victim, a 39-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The defendant is accused of intentionally shooting the victim, which resulted in his death.
Purdie is scheduled to return on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. She was held without bail.
If convicted of the charge, Purdie faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christopher S. Safulko of the Homicide Bureau.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
