Buffalo Man Sentenced for Attempted Sexual Abuse

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Hunter Saxbury, 22, of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Debra A. Haendiges to 10 years of Sex Offender Probation with a probation condition of 12 months of electronic monitoring. The defendant will also have to register as a Level 1 Sex Offender.

On the evening of Monday, April 8, 2024, the defendant attempted to subject the victim to sexual contact by forcible compulsion at a residence in the City of Buffalo. The defendant was known to the victim. 

Saxbury pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (Class ā€œEā€ felony) on September 30, 2024. The defendant was permitted to enter a plea to the reduced charge with the consent of the victim. As part of the sentencing proceeding, a final order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim, which remains in effect until December 2034.

Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department Special Victims Unit and Chief of Detectives Craig Macy for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Alexander J. Trunfio of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
