Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty to Fatally Shooting Victim with Illegal Gun on City's East Side

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Keyondre Robertson, also known as “Kano,” 22, of Buffalo pleaded guilty this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felony). 

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the defendant shot the victim with an illegal gun on Lang Avenue near Ericson Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The victim, 25-year-old John L. Craig, died at the scene. 

Robertson faces a maximum of 40 years in prison when he is sentenced on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. He remains held without bail. 

Acting DA Keane commends Detective Mark White and Detective Scott Malec of the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation. 

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney John P. Gerken, Jr. of the Homicide Bureau.
