Buffalo Man Indicted for Fatally Shooting Victim on City's East Side Last December

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 21-year-old Keyondre Robertson, also known as “Kano,” of Buffalo was arraigned this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek on an indictment charging him with one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felony).

It is alleged that on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the defendant intentionally shot the victim with an illegal gun on Lang Avenue near Ericson Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The victim, 25-year-old John L. Craig, died at the scene.

On Friday, November 10, 2023, the defendant was arrested in South Buffalo on the indictment warrant.

Robertson was held without bail. A return court date has not been scheduled at this time.

If convicted of the highest charge, Robertson faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.  

DA Flynn commends Detective Mark White and Detective Scott Malec of the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III of the Homicide Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
