Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Jaquan Terry, 27, of Buffalo, was arraigned this morning before Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi on an indictment charging him with one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class āA-Iā felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class āCā violent felony).
It is alleged that on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at approximately 12:52 p.m., the defendant approached the victim and intentionally shot him with an illegal handgun. The crime occurred while the victim was sitting inside of a parked vehicle on the 200 block of Roslyn Street in the City of Buffalo. After the shooting, the victim, 32-year-old D'Anthony Barron, drove a short distance before he died from the injuries on the 1200 block of East Delavan Avenue.
No return date has been scheduled. He was held without bail.
If convicted of the highest charge, Terry faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Justin H. Caldwell of the Homicide Bureau.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
