Buffalo Man Arraigned on Robbery Charge for His Involvement in 2019 Double Homicide Case

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE (3/18/2024):

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 28-year-old Marquise D. White of Buffalo was arraigned yesterday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Diane Y. Wray on one count of Robbery in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony). 

It is alleged that during early morning of September 27, 2019, the defendant participated in a robbery where an unknown sum of cash was stolen from the victims who were fatally shot inside of a residence on Merrimac Street in the City of Buffalo during the commission of the crime.

His co-defendants, 41-year-old Ernest B. Green, Jr. of North Tonawanda and 27-year-old Wayne Robbins of Town of Tonawanda, are currently pending prosecution for their alleged role in the robbery and murders of 21-year-old Bethany B. Malloy and 26-year-old Shaquiel S. St. John. Opening statements in their jury trial were held earlier today before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller. 

White is scheduled to return on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He was held without bail.

If convicted of the charge, White faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. 

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation. 

The case is being prosecuted by Chief Ryan D. Haggerty of the Narcotics/Intelligence Bureau, Assistant District Attorney Christopher S. Safulko of the Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Samantha King of the Narcotics/Intelligence Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
