Erie County Park Rangers

In late Summer of 2015, Erie County reinstituted the Park Ranger Program with the hiring of three rangers. The Rangers are based out of Chestnut Ridge Park, and host a variety of educational programs across the entire Park System. As certified NYS Peace Officers, they also patrol all 10,000 acres of park and forestry lands. As of 2026 The Park Ranger Program consists of 5 Park Rangers and 2 Supervising Park Rangers
