Planting a tree is much more than just digging a hole and putting the green side up. Learn how to match a tree to your desired planting location by considering factors such as soil, hydrology, sun exposure, utilities, and development of the proposed location. Consider the tree's above and below ground growth habits, mycorrhizal and soil biota associations, and ecological function in the landscape. October is a great time to plant a tree.
