2026 Open Calls for Artists: Major Works Program
Erie County is pleased to announce two new Calls for Artists as part of the Arts in Public Places program, for public art commissions to be installed exclusively at the following Erie County locations:
This opportunity is for artists residing in Erie County who have not been previously selected to complete an Art in Public Places public art project. Each selected project will receive funding of up to $75,000.
All works will be prominently displayed in each of these locations, providing high visibility and engagement with diverse audiences.
The deadline to apply is Monday, April 20, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
Virtual Information Session
A virtual Q&A session will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. Artists interested in applying are strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about the opportunity, selection process, and project requirements. No registration required.

This project is administered by the Erie County Department of Environment & Planning and the Arts in Public Places Committee, which is dedicated to commissioning public art that reflects the diversity, creativity, and voices of Erie County residents.
