Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro has been named to the board of the Community Action Organization of WNY (CAO).
“I’m honored to serve on this board, which performs important work in the community, particularly for those underserved. I look forward to working with community stakeholders and at-risk people and neighborhoods to ensure they have the resources necessary to overcome adversity and become self-reliant,” said Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro.
The CAO works with both communities and individuals to provide client-focused services to combat poverty. Those services include; Head Start programs, summer camps, a leadership academy, housing development, senior services, family services, an urban agriculture program, drug abuse and treatment assistance, job training, adult education, and operating a food pantry.

Hannah, who serves as Board President of the Community Action Organization of Western New York. “The CAO is a non-profit that serves thousands of individuals and families annually. We use our combined expertise to lead the charge on mitigating poverty throughout low-income communities within our area by empowering our clients with the resources they need to become self-responsible. It is through our collective works and partnerships with all levels of governments that enables us to provide hope by helping low-income individuals, families and communities find the resources, tools, and support they need. I thank Mr. Todaro for joining us as we labor to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate in our community.”
The board is comprised of: one-third community and business leaders, one-third elected representatives and one-third people in the low- income bracket who benefit from CAO programming. Board members serve three-year terms.
