LEGISLATOR MILLS SELECTED MINORITY LEADER FOR REPUBLICAN CAUCUS

Erie County Legislator John Mills has once again been tapped to be Minority Leader in the Erie County Legislature.  The veteran lawmaker was chosen by his peers to lead his Republican colleagues in the new year.

“I am grateful to my colleagues for their support in leading the Republican Caucus in 2025.  Important work remains, and I look forward to engaging with my fellow legislators in addressing those issues,” said Legislator Mills.  “There are challenging fiscal times ahead.  Working in a bi-partisan manner to tackle those concerns is a priority.  I stand ready to once again protect taxpayers while dealing with those matters.”

John Mills begins his 20th year in the Erie County Legislature.  He was first elected in 2005.  Mr. Mills previously served as an Orchard Park town board member, being elected to six four-year terms. He also serves on several boards and organizations in the community.  In addition, Legislator Mills was also previously selected as Chairman of the Erie County Legislature for four years, from 2014 through 2017, becoming the first Republican to hold the position in 36 years.
