SANDRIDGE WATER TANK SET TO BECOME ERIE COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY PROPERTY

The Erie County Legislature approved a measure at its last session of 2024 which will transfer the ownership of the Sandridge Water Tank from Erie County to the Erie County Water Authority.  The two entities entered into an agreement giving the ECWA control of the water tank and pertinent facilities.

“I was glad to approve this measure.  The Water Tank will be with the Water Authority, where it belongs.  But the Erie County Legislature is also ensuring there will be funding for necessary work at that location,” said Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro.

The resolution also transfers $1 million of American Rescue Plan funding to the Water Authority to be used to help refurbish the tank.  Following the transfer of ownership, the Erie County Water Authority will be responsible for all maintenance and repairs.
