Hon. Jim Malczewski is passionate about the place he calls home and is eager to tackle the issues that concern his constituents in order to grow the economy and create an environment where our children and grandchildren can thrive.
Legislator Malczewski took office in January 2023. He represents the 10th legislative district which includes Colden, Holland, Wales, Aurora, the village of East Aurora, Elma, Marilla and West Seneca. He is a husband, father, and business owner. Jim Malczewski calls himself a simple guy that believes if you just do the right thing, then things tend to work out. He lives in Elma with his wife, Michele and son Jett. His daughter, Brianna is a 2019 graduate of Clarkson University. He enjoys spending time with family, and with their golden retriever, Stanley.
Legislator Malczewski spent 12 years as an Elma town councilman where he focused on keeping taxes low and managing controlled growth to respect the community’s rural identity. He’s a hands-on guy who believes in getting involved to help the region be the best it can be.
Hon. Malczewski’s family has deep ties to the Western New York Community and the traditions that make it a unique and special place to live. His grandmother, Dorothy Malczewski introduced the tradition of the butter lamb to Buffalo and the Broadway Market, and the legislator began working at the family’s Malczewski’s Poultry Shoppe when he was 12 years old, serving butter lambs every Easter season at the Market.
The work ethic instilled in him at an early age extended into adulthood and helps define the man he is today. Legislator Malczewski started his own business at the age of 21, a business he still operates. He is a 1989 West Seneca West High School graduate and went on to study Business Management and Business Law at Erie Community College. Legislator Malczewski has coached hockey and little loop football.
Jim Malczewski knows we are a community made up of hard workers, dedicated to improving the lives of our loved ones and our community. He sees opportunities in the challenges we face. For four generations his family has invested in Erie County, serving neighborhoods, celebrating traditions and embracing the spirit and determination of those that make this a wonderful place to live. He is proud to represent the many great towns and village that make up the 10th legislative district.
