Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo presented a proclamation to Grant Hamilton, Publisher of the East Aurora Advertiser, in celebration of their 150th year in circulation. The Advertiser is one of the oldest circulated newspapers in all of Western New York and continues to be a reliable source of relevant local news for the residents of Aurora.
Legislator Lorigo said, “For a century and a half, the Advertiser has provided accurate and important local news to its readers. I’m proud to present this proclamation to Grant Hamilton who’s dedicated the last 41 years to serving East Aurora and the surrounding region. I’d also like to congratulate all the contributors who bring us the stories that define our community.”
The Advertiser is currently located on Main Street in the Village of East Aurora where it has been for most of its history. During the event, Mr. Hamilton also presented a time capsule to the town historian for safe keeping at the town’s historical society until it is ready to be opened in 50 years.
