Erie County Legislator Howard J. Johnson, Jr. Given 2021 “Youth Development Award”

Buffalo, NY – 1st District Legislator Howard J. Johnson Jr. was presented with the annual “Youth Development” award by the William-Emslie branch of the YMCA Buffalo-Niagara on Friday, March 19th. This year’s fundraiser and awards ceremony was held virtually due to continuing COVID-19 protocol.

Legislator Johnson was honored along with Ekua Mends-Aidoo of Evergreen Health who received the “Healthy Living” award and the Phi Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. who received the “Social Responsibility” award. All three were noted to be leaders in their communities.

“I was truly honored to receive such an acknowledgement from an organization that does so much for young people from minority communities. The William-Emslie YMCA and it’s programming is a vital asset to our community and our future. I’m honored to receive this award and will continue to advocate for youth programming throughout the City of Buffalo,” stated Legislator Johnson.
