Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz, members of the Erie County Legislature, and the Erie County Department of Senior Services recently conducted a cloth face mask distribution to independent senior housing apartments located throughout Erie County.

A total of 54,792 reusable masks were recently received from the NYS Office of the Aging. The masks were then delivered earlier this week by members and staff of the Erie County Legislature and staff of the Senior Services Department to 175 independent senior housing apartment complexes located in the 11 districts of the Erie County Legislature.

“I want to thank New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Office for the Aging for sending Erie County seniors citizens these cloth masks. They will be used by local seniors as part of our ongoing efforts to win the fight against COVID-19,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz.

“I want to thank the members of the Erie County Legislature and those on my staff for distributing these cloth masks. It takes a team effort to accomplish an effort of this size,” said Erie County Department of Senior Services Commissioner David J. Shenk.
