Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 57-year-old Anthony L. Daniels of Buffalo has been arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Shannon M. Heneghan on one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A-1” felony. The defendant was arraigned on Sunday, August 16, 2020.
It is alleged that on July 29, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the defendant stabbed 64-year-old Daryl Carter in the vicinity of East Ferry Street and Wohlers Avenue. The victim died at the scene.
Daniels is scheduled to return on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. for a felony hearing. He was remanded without bail.
DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Homicide Squad for their work in the investigation.
The case is being prosecuted by Chief Gary W. Hackbush and Assistant District Attorney Christine M. Garvey of the DA’s Homicide Bureau.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
