Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 20-year-old Lay Wah of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a Class “C” felony.

On June 20, 2019, parole officers conducted a routine search of the defendant’s residence on Skillen Street in the City of Buffalo. A quantity of methamphetamine and a scale was found in a shed in the backyard of the property.

Wah faces a maximum of 5 1/2 years in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. He remains held on a parole detainer.

DA Flynn commends parole officers from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision for their work in the investigation.  

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Frank A. Strano and Chief Paul J. Williams, III of the DA’s Narcotics Unit.
