Buffalo Man Sentenced for the Murder of His Wife

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 47-year-old Allen Kazmierczak of Buffalo was virtually sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to 18 years to life in prison.

On August 4, 2019, the defendant shot his wife, 52-year-old Melissa Kazmierczak, multiple times with the intent to cause her death inside their home on Stanton Street in the City of Buffalo.

Kazmierczak pleaded guilty to one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A-I” felony, on October 13, 2020. He pleaded guilty to the only charge in the indictment against him.

DA Flynn commends Detective Scott Malec of the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III of the DA’s Homicide Bureau.
