Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 21-year-old Lay Wah of Buffalo was sentenced this morning by State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to 364 days in jail.

On June 20, 2019, parole officers conducted a routine search of the defendant’s residence on Skillen Street in the City of Buffalo. A quantity of methamphetamine and a scale was found in a shed in the backyard of the property.

Wah pleaded guilty to one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a Class “C” felony, on October 6, 2020.

DA Flynn commends parole officers from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision for their work in the investigation.  

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Frank A. Strano and Chief Paul J. Williams, III of the DA’s Narcotics Unit.
