Driver Receives Jail Sentence After Pleading Guilty to Vehicular Manslaughter Charge for Killing Pedestrian in Black Rock

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 44-year-old Tiffany M. Allen of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to six months in jail followed by five years of probation.  

On December 7, 2019, at approximately 10:13 p.m., the defendant was driving, while under the influence of alcohol, northbound on Military Road in the City of Buffalo when she hit a pedestrian with her vehicle near Skillen Street. The victim, 51-year-old Jeffrey T. Chilson, was taken to ECMC where he died from his injuries.

Allen pleaded guilty to one count of Vehicular Manslaughter in the Second Degree (Class “D” felony) on November 18, 2020. 

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Paul J. Glascott of the DA’s Vehicular Crimes Bureau.
