Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 35-year-old Antonio D. Brown of Buffalo pleaded guilty this morning before Acting Erie County Court Judge Caroline A. Wojtaszek to one count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide (Class “B” felony), one count of Vehicular Manslaughter in the First Degree (Class “C” felony), and two counts of Manslaughter in the Second Degree (Class “C” felonies). The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges in the indictment against him.

On Sunday, October 27, 2019, at approximately 2:37 a.m., the defendant was driving a Maserati, while under the influence of alcohol, at a high-rate of speed northbound on Seneca Street in the City of Buffalo when his vehicle collided with a Toyota Yaris near Pomona Place.

The driver of the Toyota, 33-year-old Anthony Twentyfive, III, and his passenger, 32-year-old Kristin N. LaBruno, were both transported to the hospital where they died from their injuries. The cause of death for both victims was determined to be blunt force trauma.

The defendant and his female passenger were taken to ECMC to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Brown faces a maximum indeterminate sentence of 8 1/3 to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. He remains released on $50,000 bail previously posted in Buffalo City Court.

“This defendant made the decision to drive while intoxicated and speed down Seneca Street on a dark, rainy night. His reckless actions resulted in the tragic death of two young people. I hope that the families of the victims feel that justice has been served by this defendant taking accountability for his actions by pleading guilty to all of the charges against him,” said Erie County DA John Flynn.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Accident Investigation Unit for their work in the investigation.  

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christopher M. McCarthy of the DA’s Vehicular Crimes Unit and Assistant District Attorney Ashley M. Morgan of the DA’s Homicide Bureau.
