Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a 19-year-old female from Niagara Falls pleaded guilty this morning before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony). The adolescent offender pleaded guilty to the only charge in the indictment against her.

On May 29, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the adolescent offender fatally stabbed another teenage girl during an altercation at the Ellicott Street bus station in the City of Buffalo. The victim, a 17-year-old female from Niagara Falls, died from a single stab wound to her upper chest.

The adolescent offender, who was 17-years-old at the time of the crime, is eligible to granted youthful offender status when she is sentenced on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. If adjudicated as a youthful offender, she faces a maximum of sentence of 4 years of incarceration.

The adolescent offender continues to remain released under supervision on previously posted bail. The Court ordered that she maintain employment and pursue obtaining a GED as conditions of her release.

DA Flynn commends the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Transit Police Department for their work in the investigation.
