Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 28-year-old Andre C. Whigham, also known as “Dro,” of Buffalo was arraigned this afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan on an indictment charging him with one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felony).
It is alleged that on or about the late evening of January 29, 2021 into the morning of January 30, 2021, the defendant intentionally caused the death of his girlfriend by strangling her with his hands inside of an upstairs apartment on Gold Street in the City of Buffalo.
The victim, 22-year-old Tiara Lott, was reported missing by her family. Buffalo Police found her body alongside railroad tracks near Wex Avenue in the City of Buffalo on February 13, 2021.
Whigham was remanded without bail. A return court date has not been scheduled at this time.
If convicted of the charge, Whigham faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for their work in this investigation as well as the U.S. Marshals Service and Crime Stoppers of Western New York for their assistance to locate the defendant.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ryan D. Haggerty of the Homicide Bureau.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
