Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 44-year-old D’Angelo L. Allen of Buffalo was arraigned this morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Kevin J. Keane on the following offenses:

• One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree (Class “A-II” felony)
• One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class “B” felony)
• Five counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felonies)
• One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (Class “C” felony)
• One count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree (Class “E” felony)
• Three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Class “A” misdemeanors)
• One count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class “A” misdemeanor)

It is alleged that on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at approximately 6:11 a.m., members of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home on Grote Street in the City of Buffalo. During the search, investigators allegedly found five loaded, illegal guns inside of the home. Investigators also allegedly recovered a quantity of narcotics, believed to be crack cocaine and fentanyl, and drug packaging paraphernalia. The defendant, the subject of the investigation who was home with a young child at the time of the search, is accused of possessing the narcotics with intent to sell. 

Allen is scheduled to return on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He was remanded without bail.

If convicted of all charges, Allen faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Timothy J. Garvin of the Narcotics/Intelligence Unit.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
