Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III, announced today that 27 year old Justin Moran of West Seneca, pleaded guilty to the April 23,2011 robbery of the pharmacy at WNY Medical Park. Moran has been alleged to have stolen $5,000 worth of prescription narcotic pills with a street value in excess of $250,000 at knifepoint.

The violent incident involved Moran surprising the pharmacist from behind as he worked alone on a Saturday morning. Moran held a knife to the pharmacist’s throat, demanded narcotics and bound the pharmacist with duct tape before fleeing with over 4,000 pills.

Moran was arrested on March 29, 2012, nearly one year after the robbery. The arrest was the result of a collaborative law enforcement effort between West Seneca Detectives Jim Pappaceno and Mary Caulfield and the DA’s Investigative Task Force led by Chief John Cleary with Mark Vaughn and Phillip Torre.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 24, 2012 before Hon. John L. Michalski, where Moran faces a maximum sentence of 15 years.
