Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III, announced that early this morning investigators from the New York State Police Violent Felony Warrant Squad, the Erie County DA's Office and uniform personnel from C District of the Buffalo Police Department arrested a violent felon involved in a carjacking earlier this year on Woodlawn Avenue.

Jaysen Williams, 27, of Woodlawn Avenue, was arrested on an indictment warrant for three counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, after being spotted hiding in a field after police surrounded several houses near his residence.

He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, awaiting arraignment on the warrant before the Hon. Kenneth F. Case.  He had been on the run since being indicted in March, 2012.

The arrest was the result of a collaborative law enforcement effort between New York State Sr. Investigator Kevin Kendall, Investigator Lee Miller, the DA's Investigative Task Force led by Chief John Cleary with Mark Vaughn and Phillip Torre and Buffalo Police Department C District.
