Defendant to Serve Prison Time After Search Warrant Uncovers Five Illegal Guns and Narcotics Inside His Black Rock Home

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 44-year-old D’Angelo L. Allen of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Debra Givens to a determinate sentence of 7 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision. He was sentenced today as a second violent felony offender.

On Thursday, May 12, 2022, at approximately 6:11 a.m., members of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home on Grote Street in the City of Buffalo. Investigators found five loaded, illegal guns and a quantity of narcotics that was determined to be a mixture of crack cocaine and fentanyl.

Allen pleaded guilty to five counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felonies) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (Class “C” felony) on June 23, 2022.

DA Flynn commends the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Timothy J. Garvin of the Narcotics/Intelligence Unit.
