Grand Jury Indicts Three Murder Cases

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced today that an Erie County Grand Jury has indicted the following murder cases:

Rayshawn Bethany, age 27, of 247 Cleveland Drive, Buffalo, for Murder in the Second Degree.  It is alleged that on May 22, 2012, on 18th Street in Buffalo, Bethany acted as the driver of a vehicle in a drive-by shooting, killing 25 year old Vernon Hardy of 1932 Bailey Ave., Buffalo. 

Antoine Mattox, age 32, of 88 Andover Avenue, Buffalo, for Murder in the Second Degree.  It is alleged that on March 11, 2013 at 88 Andover Avenue, Buffalo, Mattox murdered his wife, 38 year old Nedra Mattox, by beating her.  Mattox will be arraigned on March 26, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. before County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio. 

Justin Crouse, age 30, of 3753 Center Road, Salamanca, for Murder in the Second Degree and Manslaughter in the First Degree.  It is alleged that on March 5, 2013 at 1035 South Sulphur Springs Road, Brant, Crouse murdered his girlfriend’s 3 year old son, Gage Seneca, by beating him.  Crouse will be arraigned on March 25, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. before Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang. 

If convicted of these crimes, Bethany, Mattox and Crouse all face a maximum prison sentence of 25 years to life.
