Teen Pleads Guilty in BB Gun Shooting

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 17 year old Amani Johnson of 149 Hedley Place, Buffalo, pleaded guilty, as charged, before Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang to Assault in the Second Degree.  This is the highest charge for which the defendant could have been convicted had he gone to trial.

Johnson admitted that on September 3, 2012, he intentionally shot a nine year old male victim in the face with a BB gun. 

Johnson faces a maximum prison sentence of 7 years when he is sentenced on May 22, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. before Judge Wolfgang.  If Johnson is granted YO status, he faces a maximum prison sentence of 1-1/3 – 4 years.
