Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 24 year old Tremaine Williams of 654 Minnesota Avenue, Buffalo, pleaded guilty, as charged, to Burglary in the First Degree and Robbery in the First Degree before Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang.  These are the highest charges for which the defendant could have been convicted had he gone to trial.

Williams admitted that on October 12, 2011 he and co-defendant, Michael Easley, entered a home on McKinley Parkway in Lackawanna intending to rob the family that lived there.  Williams held a mother and two children at gun point while Easley ransacked the house in search of money.  The defendants got away with approximately $1,400.  With the help of DNA evidence, Lackawanna Police Captain Joseph Leo and Detective Rodney Pietras were able to link Michael Easley to the crime scene.  Easley pleaded guilty on November 19, 2012 to Burglary in the First Degree.

Both Williams and Easley face a maximum prison sentence of 25 years.  Williams will be sentenced on August 16, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. and Easley on May 29, 2013 at 9:30 a.m., both before the Hon. Penny M. Wolfgang.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney John P. Gerken, Jr.
