Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 18 year old Jose Stitt pleaded guilty, as charged, to Robbery in the Second Degree and Robbery in the Third Degree before Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller. These are the highest charges for which he could have been convicted had he gone to trial.
On February 3, 2013 (Super Bowl Sunday), Stitt robbed the 171 Grant Street 7-11 store of approximately $90.00. Stitt then robbed 959 Niagara Street 7-11 store (located one mile away from the Grant St. store) of approximately $100.00 two hours later. In both robberies, Stitt handed a note to the clerk, eloquently stating: “Give Money. Will Shoot.” Buffalo Police Officers Kenneth Anaya and Ibrahim Abdul-Wahed apprehended Stitt within minutes after he fled from the second robbery.
The case was successfully prosecuted by ADA John Feroleto, who is assigned to DA Sedita’s recently formed Tactical Prosecution Unit. Stitt faces a maximum prison term of 22 years when he is sentenced before Justice Boller on July 26, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.
